“Petrushka” is a fairy tale for adults, a “ballet from the street”. The fair clown Petrushka longs for warmth in a society that is loved by greed for profit and the fear of social decline and from which he will ultimately be banished. When he returned to his homeland one day as a famous street clown who made everyone laugh, he was looking for revenge.
